Silent Hill 2, the highly anticipated modern remake of the survival horror classic is just a few days away from its official release. Pre-orders for the game are currently live on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam). Konami is offering two different editions of Silent Hill 2, a $70 Standard Edition, which includes the base game, and an $80 Deluxe Edition which features a few extra add-ons on top of the base game and pre-order bonuses.
As is the case with most games that are offered in multiple different versions with varying prices, selecting which edition to get can become quite an arduous task. And given the Deluxe Edition is just $10 extra over the Standard, players might be curious whether it's worth going for the most expensive version, or not.
Here's everything you need to know about Silent Hill 2's Deluxe Edition, and whether it's worth getting or not.

Should you buy Silent Hill 2 Deluxe Edition?
While the Deluxe Edition is only $10 extra, it comes with some cool add-ons that you might not want to miss out on. And if you're already planning to pre-order or buy the game on release, then it's totally worth getting the Deluxe Edition for $80. For the extra $10, you're not only getting some exclusive cosmetics but also 48-hour early access to the game.
If you pre-order Silent Hill 2's Deluxe Edition, you will be able to play the game on October 6, 2024, instead of its normal release date, i.e., October 8, 2024. The early access is available on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Pre-load for the game starts on October 4, 2024, on PS5.
What is included in Silent Hill 2 Deluxe Edition?
Apart from granting 48-hour early access to the game, the Deluxe Edition also includes an exclusive cosmetic for the protagonist James. Furthermore, the $80 version comes with the game's digital soundtrack and artbook. Both the Standard and the Deluxe Editions are entitled to the pre-order bonus cosmetic, which is also a neat easter egg from the original game.

- Pre-order bonus cosmetics
Deluxe Edition ($79.99)
- Base game
