Konami's acclaimed psychological horror franchise, Silent Hill, is among the most popular in gaming. The newest addition to it will be the remake of Silent Hill 2, scheduled to release on October 8, 2024. Re-telling the spine-chilling story of James Sunderland's trip to the town of Silent Hill, Maine, it is a remake from the ground up of the 2001 original game and bears the same name.
With the release date looming close, fans are keen to know if the game will be arriving on PC as well. Fortunately, the answer is yes, Silent Hill 2's remake will be available via Steam.

Konami has confirmed that James Sunderland's story will be available to players on PC and PlayStation 5 on October 8. The game will be exclusive to these two for at least one year, which means that players on the Xbox Series X and S consoles will have to wait at least until late 2025 to play it.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game will stay close to its source material while still expanding on elements such as the map and gameplay. The character models have also been given a refresh, such that they look suitable for the current gaming landscape while still retaining features that made them popular and stand out back in 2001. The minimum and recommended PC specifications for Silent Hill 2's remake are available as well, so there's no uncertainty regarding whether one can run it.
Should players opt to purchase the deluxe version of the game, it will be unlocked and playable two days early on October 6. The pre-order for the Silent Hill 2 remake's Deluxe edition contains the base game and the aforementioned two-day early access, plus a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and two masks that James can don.
