The newest 5-star Erudition character, The Herta is set to be released during the first half of Honkai Star Rail 3.0. Since she follows the Erudition Path, it is given that she will excel in dealing AoE damage to opponents. Moreover, The Herta’s 5-star rarity will make players spend more Passes on the banner since characters of this rarity are usually guaranteed to drop in 90 pulls.
As a result, players might wonder if they should pull for The Herta in Honkai Star Rail 3.0. The short answer is no, especially since the meta will be shifting in a few patches. This article discusses the reasons in detail.

The Herta’s pull value in Honkai Star Rail 3.0
The Herta will be joining the Erudition character roster right in the Honkai Star Rail 3.0 update. Just like most units in this path, this Genius Society member will excel in dealing AoE damage to the adversaries present on the battlefield.
While The Herta follows the Erudition Path, she can be used in both dual DPS and Hypercarry team compositions, making her a flexible unit. Which means, she can be used in numerous teams featuring dissimilar playstyles.
Since the recent end-game activity stages require players to defeat waves of adversaries as quickly as possible, The Herta will be the perfect character to complete them.
In isolation these seem like desirable traits, but this is not the full picture.
Should you consider pulling for The Herta in Honkai Star Rail version 3.0?
Taking everything into account, no, you should not pull for The Herta in Honkai Star Rail version 3.0’s first phase. While she is a good DPS unit that can easily deal absurd damage to opponents, this turn-based gacha title’s meta will be shifting soon. Therefore, it's not the right decision to pull for this Genius Society member.
Immediately after the Remembrance characters debut, they will overshadow other units. This has happened previously when HoYoverse released the Break Effect characters which cast units such as Jingliu and DHIL aside, lowering their popularity and pick rate substantially. If you want to keep up with the meta, we recommend ruling for the Remembrance characters when they come out.
