The gaming community has been spoiled with ambitious live-service titles in the past few years. However, most of these projects ended unceremoniously due to contributing factors. Developers must consistently check their games’ condition while generating new ways to attract more players and maintain momentum.

Amazon Games clarified that Aeternum is not a sequel nor a follow-up, but the definitive version of the same game released on PC a few years earlier. It is a refresh with new features, such as an improved character creation system, combat mechanics, and more quality-of-life improvements.

The developer shared a detailed roadmap of upcoming plans to give players something to look forward to. The title is packed with raid modes, PvP, and repeatable endgame activities like soul trials, as well as essential features for the console versions, such as DualSense support for the PlayStation 5.

While massive live-service games may not appeal to everyone, Amazon Games did an exceptional job revamping the original version and providing it with the support it deserves.

Aeternum encourages the player base to reconsider their options in-game, such as which items to craft since they offer gameplay benefits that could smoothen their journey.
