Exploring Yanagi’s pull value in Zenless Zone Zero 1.3
Yanagi’s abilities
HoYoverse has unveiled the core elements of Yanagi’s kit via the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 livestream and an official infographic. It appears that she can obtain buffs depending on her stances and use them to inflict massive Shock DMG on enemies.
Here are Yanagi’s notable skill sets in ZZZ:
- While playing as Yanagi, pressing Special Skill will allow her to perform a forward-facing slash and switch from her stance. She can maintain the buff from her previous stance for a short period.
- After obtaining enough energy, holding the skill button will trigger her EX Special Attack. She will enter the Shinrabanshou state.
- When Yanagi’s EX Special Skill hits an enemy with Attribute Anomaly, the Electric DMG dealt to the target will be increased. At the same time, Polarity Disorder will be triggered.
- Polarity Disorder is a special damage with boosted multipliers that does not remove the target’s Anomaly status.
Upon activating her Ultimate, Yanagi delivers a powerful slash, hitting multiple targets in a small area, followed by an additional lightning strike. The attack triggers Polarity Disorder and allows her to immediately follow up with the third move of the current Basic Attack stance.
Here are Yanagi’s core passive and additional abilities in Zenless Zone Zero:
- Core passive: After Yanagi activates her EX Special Attack, the DMG multiplier of Disorder is increased when any squad member applies the effect to an enemy. When her EX Special Attack hits the opponent, she deals bonus Electric DMG.
- Additional ability: When Yanagi is paired with another Anomaly character or a member of her faction, she gains additional Electric Anomaly Buildup, while hitting enemies with Tsukuyomi Kagura Basic Attack.
Yanagi’s pull value
Yanagi is shaping up to be one of the most coveted S-Rank units in Zenless Zone Zero, with her ability to deal massive Electric DMG and access buffs that are imbued within stances. Based on the official showcase during the version 1.3 livestream event, her gameplay is complex, requiring players to cycle through her Skill and Basic ATK in proper sequence.
Regardless, learning her playstyle will be rewarding given how well she can blend into teams as their frontrunner. Yanagi also enables mono-Electric teams, so her pull value will be high for those who have multiple characters from her element.
Should you pull Yanagi in Zenless Zone Zero 1.3?
Overall, Yanagi will be a powerhouse in the Electric roster, so she is definitely worth pulling in the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 update. That said, players have the complete authority to decide which agent to get in the upcoming update based on their requirements. If they want a more versatile member on the team over an Anomaly DPS, then Lighter will be the best option.
However, the lack of flexibility for damage dealers isn't necessarily a disadvantage as long as they can quickly clear any content in the game. Besides, they are supposed to dictate the composition, so one cannot disregard Yanagi by any means. In fact, Anomaly characters have proven themselves formidable during combat, and the same can be expected from the upcoming Electric Agent.
