Yasuke's Shoulder Bash in Assassin's Creed Shadows has become among the many popular topics of discussion regarding the game and the character. Ever since Ubisoft premiered its official cinematic trailer, Assassin's Creed Shadows has come under the spotlight for various reasons, including the playstyle differences between the two playable protagonists.
The rigid, samurai approach of Yasuke and the reveal of his moveset have brought about a question in the minds of fans who are well acquainted with Ubisoft titles. His Shoulder Bash skill is very similar to the operator ability of Oryx in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
In this article, we take a look at whether Yasuke's Shoulder Bash in Assassin's Creed Shadows was inspired by Oryx's Remah Dash from Rainbow Six Siege.

Looking into Yasuke's Shoulder Bash in Assassin's Creed Shadows and Oryx's Remah Dash in Rainbow Six Siege
In the gameplay trailers for Assasin's Creed Shadows, we find some of Yasuke's abilities and skills alongside his combat showcase. One ability that stood out was his Shoulder Bash, which was used to open up a locked gate. It was fairly similar to a character ability from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, which is Ubisoft's esports-ready title.
This character, named Oryx, debuted on March 10, 2020, during Operation Void Edge, Year 5 Season 1. His ability Remah Dash allows Oryx to dash through soft/breakable walls on any map and smash through barricades, shields, Kiba barriers, and so on.
History of Remah Dash
Interestingly, Oryx's Remah Dash was further inspired by the ability of a special character dubbed Smasher from the limited-time Outbreak event. This event won the hearts of so many players that Ubisoft made a completely different game out of it, titled Rainbow Six Extraction.
Similarities and Differences
The Remah Dash also allows Oryx to push back opponents and make them fall, forcing them to go to a prone state. This is something that Yasuke's Shoulder Bash in Assassin's Creed Shadows is also able to do, besides the fact that they can both run through breachable and breakable walls/barriers.
During our gameplay breakdown of AC Shadows, one difference between the Rainbow Six Siege Operator and Yasuke that stood out is that Oryx loses 5 HP every time he dashes through a wall but Yasuke does not seem to get hurt. However, this difference might be thanks to the latter's samurai armor.
It is not uncommon for Ubisoft to feature easter eggs that place references to its various other titles. And as such it would be a safe inference that Yasuke's Shoulder Bash in Assassin's Creed Shadows was inspired by Oryx's Remah Dash, which in turn can be dated back to Smasher from the limited-time Outbreak event.
