Neir Automata and Overwatch 2 is perhaps a crossover fans will never get to see, but that can't stop them from being creative. Recently, a Redditor shared a fanmade 2B skin for Kiriko created by artist aixo on X. It became all the hype on the platform. Both the characters are incredibly famous and well-liked by fans of the games. The two coming together resulted in over 8.3k upvotes on Reddit.

In fact, u/Salt-Standard9587 even went on to claim that the 2B Kiriko skin alone could fund the next installment of Overwatch, if Blizzard were to consider the fan concept. The Redditor said:

"That skim would fund Overwatch 3"

Blizzard has a history of creating rather interesting skins that often become fan favorites. For instance, they recently announced a My Hero Academia skin collection for Overwatch 2. If they ever collaborate with Nier Automate, u/Financial-Pizza3000 believed that the 2B skin would certainly become a best-seller as they called it:

"Literally money printing machine"

In fact, u/Sora_Dr was even ready to go ahead and purchase the skin if Blizzard Entertainment did release it. It looks like the Kiriko 2B idea is popular enough that this player wanted the devs to really create it.

u/westfieldNYraids didn't even realize that they needed the Kiriko 2B skin. The visual prompted them to relive their time watching the animated Nier Automata series as they said:

"Wow, didn’t know I needed this. I gotta go back and watch more, I think I caught up to episode 7 or 8 so almost done with season 2"

Nier Automata was released in 2017, and its recent reviews on Steam remain extremely positive. The role-playing action game has collected millions of players over its many years of existence. So it made sense for u/Winterhe4rt to believe that the skin would make Blizzard Entertainment extremely wealthy.

Overwatch 2 will soon see a collaboration with the popular anime and manga series, My Hero Academia. It was initially announced on September 26, 2024, and the Legendary skins will become available in the game starting on October 17.

The collection involves Izuku Midoriya Tracer, Ochaco Uraraka Juno, All Might Reinhardt, Tomura Shigaraki Reaper and Himoko Toga Kiriko. All of these heroes have been completely visually transformed into characters from the popular series.

Perhaps, that leaves out hope for Nier Automata fans for a 2B Kiriko skin as well as other similar Overwatch 2 skins. However, Blizzard Entertainment has not shown any visible interest in collaborating with another game as of right now.
