K.K. Slider first appeared in the original Animal Crossing in 2001 and has appeared in all subsequent games, including Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and more, all the way till New Horizons. Over the years, he has become quite the fan-favorite.

Behavior of K.K. Slider
KK Slider or DJ KK is essentially a dog who has appeared in all titles of the long-running franchise. He works as a musician and plays songs on his guitar. He has a rather rebellious personality and dislikes characters putting a price on his songs. Despite that, his songs in New lEaf are up for sale for 3,200 bells. Be that as it may, he offers to play for other characters very often. He appeared at different places in the previous titles but moved to Club LOL in New Leaf.
K.K. Slider plays a total of 55 songs in Animal Crossing, 70 songs in Wild World, 75 in City Folk, 91 in New Leaf, and 95 in New Horizons.
Appearance of K.K. Slider
KK Slider is a white Jack Russell who has thick black eyebrows shaped like semicircles. He also has a shiny black nose. He doesn’t wear any clothes in any of the titles. In New Leaf, however, he wears a black cap, headphones and black glasses while performing as DJ KK.
Role in Animal Forest and Animal Crossing
In both the titles, KK was found near the train station sitting on the stool between 8 PM to 12 AM on Saturday. He had the same role, singing songs and taking requests from other characters. If the players requested a song that was misspelled, he would play a random song and state that the characters didn’t ask for one of his.
If the players selected one of his songs, he would give them a copy for the players to hear it at their homes.
Role of K.K. Slider in Wild World
In Wild World, KK just shifted his position from the train station to The Roost and played music on Saturdays at the same time as Animal Forest.
The players were free to choose any one of his songs, or he would play one of his songs at random. After the song, he would give the players a copy of his songs so that they could listen to them again.
He is also involved in the Golden Axe Trading Event, where he trades the player his picture when given the country guitar.
Role of K.K. Slider in New Leaf
KK Slider had a slightly different role in the aforementioned title. He was available in the evenings on Saturdays after 8 PM and could be found inside Club LOL which was owned by Dr. Shrunk.
During the rest of the week, he would appear as DJ KK and would perform different songs, depending on the theme and mood.
At first, he would only perform one of the new songs that accompanied New Leaf. But gradually, the players could request songs depending on their mood.
Animal Crossing players also had to make sure that they had enough space in their pockets to receive the gift from him.
On your birthday, or any Saturday before your birthday, KK would play KK Birthday and wouldn’t play it on any other day.
Role of K.K. Slider in New Horizons
KK shows up briefly at the beginning of the game to remind the players that New Horizons would function according to real-time.
After the players have upgraded the Resident Services, Tom Nook will advise them to make changes to their islands to achieve a 3-star rating, which would enable KK Slider to perform on their islands.
As soon as that’s done, KK will appear the following day, and will show up every Saturday and perform between 6 PM and 12 AM.
If there is any event that takes place in the plaza on a Saturday, K.K. Slider will show up on Sunday instead, or Monday if two separate events are held on both weekends back-to-back such as the Bug Off and Fireworks Show.
Amiibo cards
One of the major functions of the Amiibo Cards in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to invite villagers to visit your islands. The players, however, will need to construct the campground on the island for the villagers to visit. The players can convince the villagers to stay on their islands for a while and with some special characters, they can also convince them to become permanent members.
To use these Amiibo cards, the players need to head to Resident Services once the Townhall is unlocked.
The players will be able to spot an ATM-like machine that will allow them to use their cards.
