The League of Legends patch 14.16 preview is now live, and the changes are simultaneously focused on solo queue and professional play. Riot Phreak, LoL's game designer, has taken to X to disclose all the modifications that will be implemented in the MOBA. Numerous adjustments have been introduced to promote fairness in solo queues, reduce the overall power level of ADCs through item nerfs, and provide buffs to various champions.

League of Legends patch 14.16 focuses on moving away from the prevalence of "ADCs in every lane." Additionally, it brings significant adjustments to death timers within the game.
Phreak said in this regard:
"Death timers / Death Homeguards is about making Teleport less mandatory as the only way to not lose lane. Getting a solo kill should let you push in the lane in time. Getting chain-killed should get you back to your lane in similar times without TP."
Lucian and Corki have emerged as dominant picks among professionals and in high-level solo queues. Thus, Riot Games is implementing changes to lower these champions' pick rates and bring balance to the game.
