League of Legends patch 25.S1.2 preview: Smolder buff, Voracious Atakhan nerf, and more

The League of Legends patch 25.S1.2 preview has highlighted all the major changes coming to the Summoner's Rift and Swiftplay. After monitoring the recent solo queue and professional games in LoL patch 25.S1.1, Riot Games is implementing changes to Atakhan, the newest Epic monster in the MOBA title.

According to the League of Legends patch 25.S1.2 preview, Atakhan's Voracious form will appear more often, given that his presence is fewer than 15% of games. Nevertheless, this increase in frequency will coincide with a reduction in his buff.

RiotPhroxzon said in this regard:

"We know some people will say “extremely OP”, and while we agree it’s strong we also want to give it some time and exposure for counterplay to be developed (trading objectives, wait it out, other, etc.)"

Riot Games intend to reduce the power of Bloody Roses, as they do not significantly contribute to the gameplay depth in the new package.

In contrast, Tahm Kench has recently proven to be a formidable presence in solo queue matches, boasting an impressive win rate. Some players have been utilizing this champion a lot to secure effortless victories. As a result, he will undergo some nerfs.

Previously, it was addressed that Cassiopeia would receive an additional buff instead of the Feats of Strength buff (as she cannot buy boots). However, as it appears to be more potent than necessary, adjustments will be made to address it.

Additionally, the latest game mode in League of Legends, Swiffplay, is set to undergo several balance modifications.

In the forthcoming days, Riot Games is anticipated to reveal more detailed adjustments that will be introduced to the game. The official release of the LoL patch 25.S1.2 on the live server is scheduled for January 23, 2025.
