Lethal Company has been a wonder hit when it comes to the latest multiplayer offerings on the market. The combination of sci-fi horror and the chaos of 4-player co-op has resulted in a PvE experience like no other. Indie developer Zeekerrs has been dedicated to updating the game with new elements such as items, monsters, and more to ensure longevity and attract new players.
What is Lethal Company?
It is a first-person multiplayer horror game where up to 4 players will explore abandoned moons and their bases in search of spare parts and other resources to meet a scavenging quota set by “The Company”. All this is done under a time limit while avoiding traps, monsters, and other hazards littered in and around a base.
Lethal Company Plot
Since it is a multiplayer game, there is no story in the traditional sense, however, the in-game universe does have lore. It is immediately obvious that the players are working for a mysterious company that prioritizes profit over safe employee working conditions - after all the risk of death during these expeditions is very high. Each monster in the game also has varied lore, making these encounters even more interesting.
Lethal Company Platforms
The game is only available on PC via the Steam digital storefront as an early-access release
Lethal Company Gameplay
The game takes place in first person as players navigate the confines of the base and the moon outdoors on foot. Players can interact with doors and other objects to proceed, like ladders. Up to 4 items can be carried by a player each, with larger ones requiring the use of both hands - meaning players who have their hands full cannot open doors.
Lethal Company system requirements
Since the game is in early access, these are likely not the final specs; even then, Lethal Company is an undemanding game to run:
Minimum & Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- CPU:: Intel Core i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz or AMD equivalent
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD equivalent
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 1 GB of space
Lethal Company Guide
s a 4-player multiplayer title, players will arrive upon an exomoon from the ship; while all four team members can dive into the bases and their surroundings to gather what they can, it is recommended for at least one person to stay back. This is because the ship is home to an interactive terminal system that allows purchasing goods and tools to be used by exchanging credits.
The monitor also keeps track of players while inside the bases through a map. Monster locations can also be viewed here as well as disabling traps temporarily or opening locked doorways. Collected loot must be brought back to the company counter to be sold.
Careful and smart coordination between the console user and the exploration team is important to successful expeditions, especially since monsters that spawn outside bases can chase players inside the ship.
Lethal Company Rules
After players land on the moon, they will be in a race against time to haul as many goods as possible. At 12 AM each run, the ship departs automatically. Failure to bring back dead teammates imposes a penalty on the player while inability to meet the quota results in a termination - or game over.

Lethal Company Tips and Tricks
Some of these tips should help teams last longer on dangerous moons:
- Use the scanner as frequently as possible: The scanner allows spotting items and other objects in the player’s surroundings, which can be handy in dark sections.
- Time to leave when the Jester arrives: The Jester is perhaps the most dangerous monster in Lethal Company. Depicted as a Jack-In-the-Box on legs, it is initially harmless a sit winds up a tune. 42 seconds later, a skull will pop out and it will begin hunting a nearby player. It cannot be avoided or killed so players must evacuate the facility immediately
- Always carry a weapon: While there are a few different weapons to find in Lethal Company, having something cheap and efficient like the shovel is key. This is so players can ward off smaller foes like the snare fleas.
- Avoid making noise: Many creatures are noise-sensitive, so large noises like the loud horn can attract unwanted attention like from the large eyeless dogs that roam the outdoors
FAQs on Lethal Company
The game first launched in October 2023 via Early Access on Steam and continues to see a variety of steady updates and fixes to this day. No word on the official 1.0 launch is here yet.
The rarest monster encounter is perhaps the Ghost Girl, which haunts and chases only one player at a time and cannot be seen by other players who are not being haunted. Like many other high-level monsters, she is only found on harder moons.
While scare factors differ between players, Lethal Company is generally regarded to be a fairly scary game. This is not just due to its effectively atmospheric low-poly visuals and aesthetics, but also solid sound design during exploration.
As an early-access game, Lethal Company is fairly reasonable in its current MSRP pricing of $9.99. Players could expect to see a price jump with the 1.0 final launch in the future.
Since there is no story, there is no end to Lethal Company, technically speaking. Players can choose to replay moons with their friends and get better at managing the game’s threats and scavenging aspects.
While this is a subjective question, much fear lurks around the presence of the Coil-heads; these mannequin-esque creatures are the most annoying to deal with as they only move when the player is not looking at them. Given how cramped and dark lethal Company’s interiors can be, coupled with other monsters and hazards, this makes them to most terrifying foe to face in the game as they can rush towards a turned player at lightning speed.
