Lifeline Revived arrived in Apex Legends as a part of the Season 23 update and can potentially kickstart a new Support meta in EA’s battle royale. Developers tweaked the abilities for Lifeline in an attempt to help players match the pace of the game and do justice to the character’s title as a Combat Medic. These changes can bring massive team composition changes as this legend can now deploy a shield to protect the team from incoming damage.
Lifeline Revived is an iteration of a legend rework similar to Revenant Reborn. This update is a long-awaited change that was expected to arrive in earlier seasonal updates. The latest season will also incorporate a few new perks for the entire Support class to enable the characters to become an integral part of any squad.

Lifeline Revived all abilities explained
Here is a quick overview of all the abilities that will form the new kit for Lifeline in Apex Legends:
- D.O.C Heal Drone (Tactical): Lifeline can deploy a drone that can follow allies when launched and heal them at the same time. The drone can be recalled back to Lifeline where it will heal all nearby allies and move alongside the players. The drone launches in follow mode by default.
- Combat Glide (Passive): Lifeline can grab her drone and glide for a short amount of time. During this glide, players will not gain any additional height and drop down to the ground slowly while being able to move in any direction.
- D.O.C Halo (Ultimate): The legend deploys a large drone that casts a small 360-degree shield around itself. This shield can block all incoming bullets. However, the shield is completely open at the top and does not form a full cover, unlike Gibraltor’s tactical ability. Allies inside this shield can enjoy faster healing.
How to play Lifeline Revived in Apex Legends
Lifeline Revived is a combined update for Season 23 and can be accessed without completing any other prerequisites. You can jump into an online lobby and simply pick the legend to enjoy the fresh reworks.
Lifeline’s ability to deploy the drone and heal allies remains one of the most effective ways to reset after a team fight. It can now be used while moving as you can assign the tactical ability to follow around while progressing to a different location. This is a great way to avoid being stuck in a place and targeted by other teams. As a Support character, the mobile healing drone can help you get into cover quicker as you can heal your shield without sacrificing any movement speed.

The glide ability is good for covering short distances and avoiding gunfire. Since most legends can only slide or hop around, you can integrate gliding into the list of maneuvers to become harder to track. This is also a great way to travel from one building to another, especially on a map like E-District which has a lot of structures. However, gliding is limited by time and is likely a restriction put in place by the devs to balance the passive ability.
The ultimate ability can be used to temporarily deploy a bulletproof shield around an area to protect the space and allies inside the zone. A key perk of this area is that the team can heal faster inside this shield. It can function like Gibraltar’s dome, but is not closed at the top, and provides a supportive cover required by the team during gunfights.

The synergic usage of the refreshed Lifeline ability kit can make you an effective on-to-go healer and make space for more team compositions, unlike Season 22 where Newcastle dominated the scene. However, the initial state of the legend could receive additional changes as the devs might buff or nerf some of its abilities and their effects.
What are the best Lifeline perks in Apex Legends
Here's a list of all the perks you can choose as Lifeline in Apex Legends:
Level 2
- Battpack
- Extended Flight
Level 3
- Enhanced Radio
- Tactical Cooldown+
The Battpack perk enables you to carry an additional Battery in the stack. This also allows you to see a Battery Count in Death Boxes.
Extended Flight increases the gliding time for the passive ability by 1.5 seconds.
The Enhanced Radio perk increases the distance from where a D.O.C Heal drone can be assigned by 50%.
Tactical Cooldown, as the name implies, decreases the cooldown by 10 seconds on the tactical ability.

Since Lifeline does not have a Care Package ultimate anymore, it could be beneficial to take the Battpack perk and stack up on shield healing items for you and your team. However, if you want to take an aggressive approach, the Extended Flight perk can go a long way to help you fight teams and quickly relocate from one high region to another.
Enhanced Radio is great for teams that prefer to play at their own pace while not sticking together. You can send off your tactical ability from a greater distance with this perk and aid your allies in battle. The last perk is quite simple and has a lot of value as one can spam the healing drone during the final circles in Apex Legends and only concentrate on recovering the shields.
