FC IQ Player Roles have increased the importance of tactical gameplay in the franchise with this year's installment. While a player can be assigned one of many Player Roles for a particular position, having a + or ++ in a role means they're an excellent fit.

Interestingly, both Liverpool and Aston Villa have 10 players in their default starting 11 with a Player Role+ or ++. However, the former has more ++ in its squad, which suggests it would be tactically superior.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa: Final verdict

Most of Liverpool's players have better EA FC 25 ratings than those of Aston Villa. The former side also looks tactically superior, the combination of which suggests that Liverpool is the better team.
