Following the launch of Marvel Rivals, a new leak suggested that a fresh hero from the comics would be added to the title. This is none other than Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, replete with his stretchy powers. Both his design and kit were leaked, giving fans a glimpse at how he could play upon a potential launch.

As with most character "reveals" beforehand, Mr. Fantastic has been met with positive reception. The leak surfaced via the @RivalsLeaks account on X. Despite being relatively new to the scene, many of the leaker's claims regarding Marvel Rivals have been accurate in the past, such as newly revealed character Team-Up abilities.

As per the leak, Mr. Fantastic, one of the iconic Fantastic Four heroes, sports a white and blue costume, with his cel-shaded design falling in line with the rest of the crew of the multiplayer game. That said, fan reception has been quite positive under the leak on X, praising the concept of Mr. Fantastic being a Tank hero.

User @Crippl3 humorously praised the inflated Mr. Fantastic model, which is a transformation that seemingly happens after using his abilities in-game:

"Look at this absolute beast, 100% natty for sure"

Some have applauded the idea behind making Mr. Fantastic a Vanguard, the Tank role in Marvel Rivals, which is what the leak suggests:

Many others have equally positive things to say about his design and role, with user @captaincupkicks suggesting that his new look is good enough for them to consider Marvel Rivals one of the greatest games.

Fans look forward to Mr. Fantastic in Marvel Rivals following leaks

On top of his design, fans may be curious about how his kit would function in-game. RivalsLeaks also shared an image showcasing alleged abilities, granting an insight into Mr. Fantastic's role and gameplay style in Marvel Rivals:

  • Elastic Punch (Left-Click): Strech out a forward punch to attack enemies.
  • Rubber Grip (Right-Click): Extend arms forward to entangle hit enemies, and then use Left-Click to select and yank two more enemies.
  • Flexible Elongation (E): Select a target and dash at it, inflicting damage on enemies and granting Bonus Health to allies.
  • Reflexive Rubber (L-Shift): Stretch the body to absorb damage before launching stored damage in the targeted direction.
  • Brainiac Bounce (Q): Leap and smash, knocking back enemies within range. Upon hitting an enemy, leap again, up to six times.
  • Elastic Strength (Passive): Skills generate Elasticity, boosting attack power. Reaching full Elasticity triggers an inflated state that restores Health and further enhances damage.

Given how these leaked skills focus on tanking incoming damage and sustaining teammates during fights, Mr. Fantastic is likely a Vanguard hero. This would make him an interesting addition to the roster alongside classics like Groot, Magneto, and Captain America, with the Tank department currently lacking compared to other roles such as Duelist.
