It is no secret that the new Lords of the Fallen title is a challenging game. Being a Soulslike RPG, this title compels players to battle fierce and powerful monsters who will test both their skills and builds. Speaking of the latter, players are free to mold their protagonists the way they prefer. This ranges from tanky, shield-wielding brutes to swift spellcasting mages.
While experimentation is key to fine-tuning a build, players may often find themselves wishing to change various aspects of their character, like stats. Thankfully, players can respec their character in Lords of the Fallen to tweak or even completely start over if they so desire.

- Description: A chrysalis of Umbral origin. Use to reassign existing player level points.
To respec, players will need to acquire a rare item known as the Rebirth Chrysalis. This can be first obtained after beating Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal, one of the earlier bosses players must fight in the game. She can be talked to later on in the Skyrest Bridge area, located to the left of the Vestige. If players have a Rebirth Chrysalis, they can talk to her and get the Reset Build option.
Otherwise, it will be greyed out. In this case, players must track the Rebirth Chrysalis down. The easiest way to find one is by switching to the Umbral version of Skyrest Bridge. This is a unique mechanic in Lords of the Fallen where players shift into an alternate reality of the dead. Here, approach and talk to the NPC called Molhu who sells Rebirth Chrysalis for 8,000 vigor.
Do note that only a limited number of these items exist in the game by default. Another way to get a Chrysalis is by purchasing it from an optional vendor called Winterberry. Alternatively, they can be found as world drops in the Fief of the Chill Curse and Tower of Penance.
Another more reliable but very expensive way to get this rare object requires players to interact with the Shrine of the Putrid Mother. This is right next to Molhu in the Skyrest Bridge's Umbral rendition in Lords of the Fallen. The Shrine is active when players are online and allows trading Plucked Eyeballs for a variety of items, including Rebirth Chrysalis for 250 Plucked Eyeballs. The eyeballs can be obtained by avenging fallen co-op members during the campaign - not unlike other similar Soulslike games, like Nioh.
Their locations are signified by a lamp, which when interacted with, summons red moths that lead to the creature that killed that player. Defeating it will reward players with Plucked Eyeballs for use at the Shrine. But as mentioned before players will need to collect 250 of them for a Rebirth Chrysalis, so a grind is in order for players who choose this method. This is all players need to know about respecing builds to change their class.
Not to be confused with the 2014 game of the same name, Lords of the Fallen (2023) is a successor to the nearly decade-old action RPG. Developed by HEXWORKS, it is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
