One of the best ways to get more powerful in Lords of the Fallen is to get your favorite weapon upgrades. However, that is not something that you will be able to invest in before you meet Blacksmith Gerlinde. The NPC is not someone you will have the privilege of meeting as soon as the game kicks off, and you will need to progress a bit in the narrative in order to unlock him.

Where to find Gerlinde the Blacksmith in Lords of the Fallen

To be able to encounter Blacksmith Gerlinde in Lords of the Fallen, there are a few steps that you will need to do first. The first is to reach the Pilgrim’s Perch Bellroom, the Vestige of Blind Agatha. This will happen after you have bested some bosses.

After this, you will need to follow these steps:

• You will first need to reach the Pilgrim’s Perch Bellroom, and from there you will need to make your way to a cave just past a waterfall. Then, continue onwards by killing enemies till you find a ladder that leads down.
• After using the ladder, you will need to switch to the Realm of the Dead or the Umbral Realm. Now you will need to move towards the area with some corpse statues. The goal here is to obtain the Bowl of Revelations.
• To be able to do so, you will need to use Soulflay on a statue that has a blue vine. This will let you get your hands on the Bowl of Revelations. Once you have the item, make your way to a set of stairs that is located later on in the area; there, you will find that your path is blocked. This blockade is what provides you with a shortcut back to the village and Pilgrim’s Perch Bellroom.
• However, removing the blockade is a bit tricky and you will need to use Soulflay on three statues. You can find them by just following the blue vines. Once done, you will be able to unlock the lift, which is the shortcut to the village. Here you will also find some cages, inside which the Lords of the Fallen Blacksmith Gerlinde is locked.
• Now keep defeating the enemies as you make your way across this area and come face to face with an enemy carrying a shield as well as some dogs heavily clad in armor. Once you take them out, you will get the key to Gerlinde’s cage.
• Now go back to the Blacksmith and interact with her after freeing her. She will then set up shop in the Skyrest Hub Area.
