Lords of the Fallen is a new Soulslike game that has become quite popular among fans of the genre. Among the novelties of this title are the two worlds that it presents simultaneously. The mechanics in Umbral do not change much, but it is important to have information about the world before entering it.

In Lords of the Fallen’s Umbral, enemies attack more violently and take advantage of certain scenarios to appear out of nowhere. However, there are some details that offer advantages to those brave enough to enter the parallel world.
How to enter Umbral in Lords of the Fallen
There are two ways to enter Umbral in Lords of the Fallen.
The first is through an object called the Umbral Lamp. To use it, you must first select it in the bottom-right corner of the interface. Then, by simply lifting the lamp, you can peer into Umbral and pass through some places that are not available in Axiom. Using this item, you can temporarily enter the Threshold, which will allow you to use the flashlight in the alternate realm.
The other way to enter Umbral is when your character dies in Axiom. This mostly happens in boss encounters in the game, and it allows you to resurrect and try to defeat the enemy. To return to Axiom, you will need to find one of the Emergence Effigies, which are points that transport you from one place to another.
Best way to farm Vigor in Lords of the Fallen Umbral
Vigor is the currency of Lords of the Fallen. You can use it to upgrade your character, purchase items, and improve your equipment.
In Axiom, the world of the living, you can earn Vigor from various enemies. Next to the bar that shows the amount of Vitality you have, there is an indicator called the multiplier.
In the world of the living, this multiplier has a value of x1.00. When you enter the Umbral, the value increases to x1.10. However, there is one way to get more Vigor: wait. As time passes within the Threshold, the multiplier value increases, even reaching x3.00 when facing enemies with a lot of power.
Considering these elements, the best thing to do is to wait a while inside the Threshold until you have a good multiplier indicator. You can then go to an area with a lot of enemies and get double or triple the points you could get in Axiom.
How to upgrade weapons and find required materials in Lords of the Fallen Umbral
To upgrade your weapons, you must first rescue the blacksmith. You can do this once you have defeated the first major boss of Lords of the Fallen, Pieta. You will then need to go along a cliff, and when you reach a place called Pilgrim's Perch Ballroom, you will find an elevator that will take you to the Vestige of Blind Agatha.
Use the elevator to go down and kill the wizards you find near the place. Then, drop down to the cage you will see below. Inside the cage, you will find the blacksmith and a hostage. Kill one of the nearby enemies who will have the key. With the item, you will free the prisoners.
From now on, you will be able to upgrade your weapons thanks to the blacksmith. Note that this character appears at random moments in the game, either in the Umbral or in the Axiom. Simply gather the necessary materials and complete the task.
The upgrade materials you need to improve your weapons can be found in several ways in each of the two realms of the title:
- Looting items on the ground.
- Searching corpses.
- Opening chests.
- Buying items from various merchants.
- Via a quest
- As a reward for a boss fight
Since there are more enemies in Umbral, you are likely to get more significant quantities of materials to improve your weapons there.
