Personality
Marshal has a Smug behavior type, but don’t let that mislead you. Marshal is not smug in the sense that he feels superior over everyone, more in the sense that he’s very self-confident. The first time you meet Marshal, you’ll find that he’s extremely polite and well mannered. While Smug Villagers occasionally suffer from a case of an inflated ego, they mean well. Because of this, Marshal gets along well with Lazy, Normal, Peppy, and Snooty villagers quite well. However, he will have trouble with those who are Cranky.
Appearance
Marshal is a squirrel villager although his pure white coat of fur not only helps him stand out amongst other squirrel villagers, but also compliments his Smug personality. With a refined and poised look, Marshal has little else in his color palette, save for pink blush and purple ears.
How to get Marshal in New Horizons
Getting a villager you want in New Horizons is particularly tricky as there is only one surefire way to do so, the rest is up to luck. There are two primary methods of getting Marshal in your village; the first is using Nook Miles to fly to an island and see if he is there. Keep in mind if you do this you’ll have to have an open plot available. The second method is to wait and see if he’ll appear on your campsite. Either way both methods are luck based, so it’s completely up to chance.
Role of Marshal in New Leaf
Marshal is a villager again in New Leaf, appearing randomly and gives you the opportunity to invite him to stay in your town. New Leaf was his first appearance in the Animal Crossing games.
Amiibo
A guaranteed way to get Marshal on your island is to use his Amiibo card. Simply scan it with your Switch at the Town Hall. Keep in mind in order to do this you need to have both the Town Hall and Campsite constructed. Once you’ve invited him to your campsite, you simply need to do this three times and he’ll be part of your island!
