NetEase Games' Marvel Rivals has beaten Apex Legends in terms of peak player count in 2025. EA's battle royale lost its top spot with the highest recorded peak player count of 624,473. Meanwhile, the NetEase title gained a whopping 642,333 peak players, beating Apex with 17,860 players after the launch of Season 1.

Marvel Rivals has become the 14th most-played game ever in the Steam database, which is proof of its initial success. Apex Legends, on the other hand, has lost a significant chunk of its player base, with the player count falling as low as 54,445 concurrent players.
The NetEase Games title had a pretty successful launch, with a whopping 418, 832 players on Steam servers in December 2024.
