The streamer stated that though Marvel Rivals is fun to play, the fact that there is no role lock feature will make it not fun after the initial hype. He mentioned that it was not particularly enjoyable when the players did not lock the characters strategically, with the majority primarily picking Duelist class heroes.
The comments seem to have mixed reactions from the community, with some players mentioning that it does not need role locking, while others believe that it is the core of any hero-based game.
For those who don't know, role lock is a basic tactic that games use so that both the teams in the match have a balanced lineup of heroes. There are three classes: Vanguard, Strategist, and Duelist, each having its pros and cons. Role locking can ensure a balance of all three classes in the game, limiting two players to each role, so that people realize the importance of them all and play as a team.

Does Marvel Rivals need role-lock for better balancing?
Though it is a hot topic, role-locking improves the experience for a lot of players in any hero-based game. Many players think that this problem can be solved by simply adding the role-locking feature in the competitive mode while leaving the casual game modes free of it. This will ensure that more serious players will be able to play a balanced game, away from trolls.
