Marvel Rivals has been climbing the charts and attracting millions of players lately. In such competitive hero games, maintaining a high FPS is crucial to ensure a smooth experience and optimal responsiveness. Recent discussions among the community have revealed that certain heroes don't perform well for users who face low FPS issues on their devices.
Redditor u/nyun_ shared a post on the official Marvel Rivals subreddit that has made this issue clearer. Five heroes were shown in action at 160 and 30 FPS. This post gained a lot of traction from the community and has over 6,500 upvotes.
On that note, here are the Marvel Rival heroes to avoid if you have a low-end build that faces FPS issues, in no particular order.

Doctor Strange and other Marvel Rivals heroes to avoid during low FPS
1) Doctor Strange
As per the comparison footage, when you do an aerial glide with Doctor Strange, you will see a notable difference between the amount of distance covered on a high FPS device compared to a lower one. The low FPS user is likely to travel a lesser gliding distance, limiting the ability's effectiveness and causing an unfair competitive disadvantage.

2) Star-Lord
Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals has one of the most dangerous ultimate abilities. His Blaster Barrage interestingly deals more damage at higher frame rates, allowing for quicker eliminations, especially if it's a tank. Although the damage and time taken to eliminate a tank in the abovementioned Reddit post is not a lot, it could make a significant difference in high-ranked games.
3) Magik
Magik is the only sword-slinging hero in the game. Her uppercut move is essential for vertical mobility and impact damage. For some reason, higher FPS players can reach slightly greater height and distance, giving them a slight edge.

4) Venom
Venom has the best mobility options among all the Vanguard heroes. Unfortunately, his overall movements and attack fluidity seem to be tied to the frame rate the user gets. At low FPS, his actions feel significantly less responsive compared to a high frame rate.
5) Wolverine
Wolverine is one of the few melee heroes in Marvel Rivals. A higher frame rate not only allows users to do slash attacks quicker, but it seems like Wolverine can do slightly higher damage too. Considering this character solely relies on closed-ranged combat, this is a serious issue.
These are all the heroes that are currently affected by low FPS. Do note that this seems to be a bug and unintentional. Considering this, NetEase Games might already be working on a fix, and the game will likely be stabilized with the official release of Season 1, sometime in January 2025.
Finding the most optimal settings for a relatively new game like Marvel Rivals could be challenging. Considering keeping settings such as Post-processing, Global Illumination, and Reflection Quality at low. Moreover, the community has made third-party FPS boosting mods that could help as well. Do note that third-party plugins could be dangerous and only download from trustable sources.
