All Marvel Snap balance changes on September 12, 2024
Sandman (buff & rework)
Sandman has historically been used to suppress powerful decks that could overwhelm opponents by playing multiple cards toward the end of the game.
However, Marvel Snap developers have decided to soften Sandman’s ability, making him less oppressive. By increasing his cost penalty but reducing his lockdown potential, Sandman will still disrupt enemy strategies without completely stifling gameplay.
Mockingbird (nerf)
Mockingbird has been a dominant force in several top-tier decks, making it a target for balance changes. By reducing her Power from 10 to 9, Nuverse aims to slightly lower her influence without making her obsolete. This change is expected to shift the power dynamics in high-stakes matches without affecting her core role.
Aero (buff)
Aero’s utility as a tactical disruptor remains crucial, but the developers felt she could use a slight boost in Power. Thus, they have decided to change her Power from 9 to 10, increasing Aero's threat on the board by aligning her with other cards of similar cost while maintaining her disruptive ability.
Black Cat (buff)
Following adjustments to key cards like Hela and Black Knight, Black Cat’s usage has declined. The increase in Power from 9 to 10 is intended to reinstate her presence in discard-focused decks for more attractive options.
Ghost Rider (buff)
Ghost Rider’s revival ability is a fan favorite, and Nuverse is keen to make it more consistent in gameplay. The Power boost from 3 to 4 enhances his value, giving players more reason to experiment with discard-and-revive strategies without overcomplicating his role in the metagame.
Moon Girl (buff)
Moon Girl has seen less play after Loki’s introduction, and Nuverse wants to bring her back into the spotlight. By increasing her Power from 4 to 5, the developers are hoping to increase the number of combo-focused plays.
Also, the developers have claimed that they internally tested the 3-Cost version of this card but later discarded it because it was breaking the game.
War Machine (rework)
War Machine’s On Reveal ability has been adjusted to an Ongoing effect, providing more consistent value throughout the game. This change is intended to enhance his utility across different deck archetypes by allowing players to place their cards strategically across the board.
Agatha Harkness (rework)
In response to Kathryn Hahn’s return in the latest Agatha series, Nuverse has decided to change Agatha's ability in Marvel Snap. Instead of controlling the game entirely, she will now only play cards on even-numbered turns.
