Event’s producer Geoff Keighley has revealed on Twitter that Hideo Kojima, the man behind the Metal Gear Solid series, will be debuting the online multiplayer element of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain during the Video Game Awards 2014.
The original Metal Gear Solid Online launched back in 2008 for the PS3 as a bonus feature for Metal Gear Solid 4. The feature allowed up to 16 players to attack in various online combat modes. After its success, a standalone package of Metal Gear Solid Online was made available on the PlayStation Network specifically for those who did not own Metal Gear Solid 4.
The first Game Awards 2014 will be held in Las Vegas this Friday, December 5th and the even can be viewed live on Youtube, Twitch TV, NicoNico, Steam and consoles. Check out Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain structure explanation and some of the new characters introduced in the game.
