Metal Gear Solid Vol. 1 Master Collection

The Metal Gear Solid games by Hideo Kojima have been lauded to the moon and back - and justly so. They were games that were years ahead of their time and had no competitors. Many fans clamor for them to be brought onto the newer consoles and in 2023, Konami will honor some of these games with the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. The bundle is a collection of Metal Gear's early works, and it was revealed as a surprise during the PlayStation Showcase 2023.

How many games does Metal Gear Solid Vol. 1 Master Collection have?

Metal Gear has been idle because of the disappointment which was caused by Metal Gear Survive, but Konami intends to bring it back in a big way. Konami was a prominent presence at the recent PlayStation Showcase, where it announced the return of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. The developer revealed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a full-blown Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.

The latter has three games, and there were some mystery games in the collection that had yet to be revealed, but they may have been revealed by the PlayStation Store. The PlayStation Store listing is much more detailed about which versions of which games are included in this collection.

This basically makes the bundle a modern console variant of the Metal Gear HD Collection, which was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. Konami will most likely confirm the full extent of its contents before its release this autumn.

The collection has yet to receive an official trailer, as that honor was reserved for the MSG3 Remake. However, you can see the bundle for the first time via the PlayStation Showcase 2023.
