Metaphor ReFantazio Gallica guide: How to unlock, Bond ranks, and abilities

Metaphor ReFantazio is the latest JRPG on the market, with its gameplay being quite similar to that of the popular Persona series. This would come as no surprise, given that Atlus and Sega have created both franchises. Much like Persona, Metaphor also features incredibly detailed RPG mechanics and engrosses the player within its world. It is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X and S.

The game features a party management system, wherein players can choose between supporting members, or followers to aid the protagonist in their united cause to take down the enemies. One of the first is a fairy named Gallica, who accompanies the protagonist throughout the campaign. Below are details on how to unlock the different ranks for her, and the rewards earned via Bond Abilities.

Unlike other followers, Gallica is automatically unlocked on 6/6, after players interact with Strohl for the first time. She is encountered in the Nord Mines and can be found after the boss battle has concluded. As for leveling her up, the same happens naturally with the story progression.

Below are the Rank unlock criteria and rewards for Gallica.

• Rank 1: Unlocked on 6/6 after the Nord Mines boss fight. The Mage Archetype can now be studied by the party.
• Rank 2: Unlocked on 6/11. Unlocks Mage Enlightenment which reduces MAG cost of studying the Mage lineage. Also unlocks Follower's Echoes, which allows followers' voices to be heard even when they are far away.
• Rank 3: Unlocked after clearing Kriegante Castle. Unlocks Mage Archetype: Adept, which allows the party to study the Wizard. Also unlocks Monsterology Scholar, which allows for more detailed enemy analysis in Squad Battle.
• Rank 4: Unlocked on 7/23. Unlocks Scion's Skill, which increases inheritance slots for the Mage Lineage to 2. Also unlocks Fae Sight Acuity, which allows for more detail while inside a dungeon when using Fae Sight.
• Rank 5: Unlocked on 8/13. Unlocks Mage Veneration, which significantly reduces the MAG cost of studying the Mage lineage.
• Rank 6: Unlocked on 8/19. Unlocks Scion's Merit, which increases the skill inheritance slots for the Mage Lineage to 3.
• Rank 7: Unlocked on 9/23. Unlocks Scion's Essence, which increases skill inheritance slots for the Mage Lineage to 4.
• Rank 8: Unlocked on 9/24. Unlocks Mage Archetype: Elite, allowing the party to study Elemental Master and Warlock. Also unlocks Victory Foresight, which can increase the chances for Gallica to grant extra Turns while in battle.
