The recently released RPG and simulation title Mirthwood allows players to create their own farm where they can grow crops and ranch animals. Currently being compared to Stardew Valley, Mirthwood follows different farming mechanics. There are a ton of crops and animals that you can keep at your farm in this game. However, crops are seasonal, which gives it a realistic touch.

Even though farming simulation games are considered relaxing and cozy, they can feel a little too overwhelming at first. This guide aims to cover all the basics that you need to learn to grow crops and ranch animals at your new farm.

Complete farming guide for Mirthwood

Crops

First things first, you need various crop seeds in order to start farming. For this, you can visit the Northdell Farm, located northeast of Brightoak. Here, you will be able to find all types of seeds. Do note that even though you can buy any seeds whenever you want, you can grow them only during the appropriate seasons. Apart from wheat, all the other crops in Mirthwood have a dedicated season when they can be planted.

Farm animals

Apart from crops, you can get farm animals from the Northdell Farm itself. However, you also need to make sure to feed your animals daily by providing them with Hay, which can be collected by cutting tall grass using your scythe. Additionally, if you upgrade your scythe, you can increase the amount of Hay you can harvest. If you have some extra cash lying around, you can also buy Hay directly from the Northdell Farm to avoid going through such hassle.
