MLBB patch 1.8.78C update (May 2024): Launch date, hero adjustments, and more

The MLBB patch 1.8.78C update suddenly arrived on May 28, 2024, when the community was least expecting it. The MLBB patch 1.8.78 update arrived on April 28, 2024, with Helcurt revamp and hints of a slight shift of the meta from Fighter to Assassin. As a result, the community did not expect to see a mail regarding another update.

While the recent one announced buffs to popular Assassins like Aamon and Guison, it also toned down some non-Marksman heroes that were recently seen overpowering the Marksman heroes in the Gold Lane.

MLBB patch 1.8.78C update: Launch date and developer's note

The MLBB patch 1.8.78C update arrived in the game on May 28, 2024. The developers mentioned that some Jungle Tanks can infiltrate the enemy Jungle Area of Jungle Assassins due to their fast Jungling Speed and high durability in the early game.

Therefore, with this update, they have decided to buff some Jungle Assassins and nerf some Jungle Tanks in the hopes of making them equally competitive in the early game.

The developers have also added that they will be toning down some non-Marksman heroes that had recently been dominating the Marksman heroes in the Gold Lane.

Moreover, the MLBB patch 1.8.78C has also brought in some Battlefield Adjustments, even though the developers hadn't mentioned this.

MLBB patch 1.8.78C update: Hero buffs

The MLBB patch 1.8.78C update has seen plenty of Hero buffs. Here are all the buffs mentioned in the in-game mail:

Aamon

Aamon's jungling speed has been increased while skill cooldown has been reduced.

Passive

Invisible Armor duration increased from 2.5s to 3s.

Skill 1

Aamon's first skill's cooldown reduced from 9-6.5s in different levels to 7s in all levels

Skill 2

Second skill's cooldown is reduced from 15-12.5s in different levels to 13-11s in different levels

Guison

This MLBB patch 1.8.78C update increased his Jungling Speed and ability to fight Jungle Tanks.

Passive

Damage: 3% of target's lost HP is being changed to 3% of target's Max HP.

Joy

This update also increased Joy's Jungling Speed in the early game, and reduced her Ultimate cooldown.

Passive

Total Physical Attack Bonus for Basic Attacks increased from 25% to 65%

Ultimate

Her Ultimate Skills's cooldown decreased to 28s from 32s.

Julian

Julian's Jungling Speed in the early game has been increased further in MLBB patch 1.8.78C update.

Attributes

Basic Attack Speed increased from 0.99 to 1.1

Passive

Enhanced Basic Attack Base Damage went from 75 to 100

Skill 1

Base Damage of his first skill increased from 380-700 in different levels to 420-700 in different levels

Barats

Lowered his early and mid game Jungling Speed and performance

Passive

Hybrid Defense decreased from 4-10 to 3-9

Skill 1

Total Physical Attack Bonus for Detonation Damage went from 200% to 160%
Detonation Damage only deals 50% of damage to Creeps.

Fredrinn

Fredrinn's control was a little too frequent. Thus the developer has increased the downtime between combos while maintaining the experience of a full combo.

Skill 3

Fredrinn's third skill's cooldown increased from 1-5s to 9-6s

Roger

Roger dominated when laning against other Marksmen with his extremely high Lifesteal in the early game, while others were nerfed. The MLBB patch 1.8.78C update has reduced his Lifesteal, but also ensured his survivability in Wolf form in the early game.

Attributes

Base HP decreased to 2530 from 2730

Ultimate

Increased Hybrid Defense (Wolf) increased from 25-70 to 40-70

Harith

Harith's suppression in the Gold Lane was a bit too high, so the developers reduced his survivability in the MLBB patch 1.8.78C update.

Passive

Base HP decreased from 2701 to 2401

Skill 2

Changes in Shield: 185-310+140% of Total Magic Power to 120-270 +130% of Total Magic Power

Chip

In some cases, it is very easy for teammates to teleport to the Main Portal and fall deeper into the enemy siege, resulting in Chip leading his teammates to their doom. Hopefully, this will happen less often after the MLBB patch 1.8.78C update.

Skill 1

Shield increased when hitting multiple targets from 25% to 40%

Ultimate

Teammates gain a 500-1000 Shield when teleporting to the Main Portal through the Connecting Portal.
Connecting Portal Spawn Location: Beside allies at 4 units to Beside allies at 2.6 units

MLBB patch 1.8.78C update: Battlefield Adjustments

The developers have increased the cost for some heroes to invade the enemy jungle in the early game, and provide a safer farming environment for some junglers who are weaker early on.

Jungle Area Protection in the first two minutes of the match: Damage taken by the jungler in their own jungle is reduced by 15% as now Damage taken by all our heroes in the enemy jungle is increased by 20%.
