Mobile Legends Bang Bang MWI in Esports World Cup 2024: Group Stage results

The Group Stage of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Bang Women's Invitational (MWI) 2024 at the Esports World Cup has kept the MLBB Esports community quite engaged on July 24 and 25. Twelve top Women's MLBB teams were divided into four groups of three, where each team played two matches against the other two teams in their groups to secure their position in the Playoff of the tournament.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational tournament in Esports World Cup: Group Stage Day 1

Group A and Group D matches were played on the first day of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang MWI in Esports World Cup 2024.

Team Falcons Vega faced CFU Serendipity in the opening match of MLBB MWI 2024, both heavyweight teams in the competition. The former had the home crowd's support owing to being part of the Saudi Arabian franchise of Team Falcons.

In the first match, Falcons Vega beat CFU Serendipity with a clean sweep (2-0) to claim the opening match of the historical event.

Cloud9 faced CFU Serendipity in the next match, and it was a neck-to-neck battle between the teams. The latter took the first game and quickly took the driver's seat in the match. However, Cloud9 responded decisively in the next match and won with an 11-2 kill record to register a draw to their name in the opening match.

In the third match, Cloud9 faced Team Falcons Vega. Cloud9 started the game quite well. However, they couldn't maintain their dominance in front of the more experienced Indonesian side. Falcons Vega won with a 2-0 scoreline to secure their slot in the Playoff as Group A Table Toppers.

With a tie between Cloud9 and CFU Serendipity on the points table, the teams contested a Tie Breaker match, where Cloud9 beat CFU Serendipity to secure their spot in the playoffs.

In the Group D matches, Tidal Legends Gaming were drawn against Gaming Gladiators x Homegirls in the first match. TLG showed immense domination to win the first game. However, Gaming Gladiators came back stronger in the next game to clinch a draw in the face of defeat.

In the second game, Tidal Legends Gaming faced Team Vitality, one of the strongest contenders to win the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational Tournament 2024 in the Esports World Cup. Even though TLG fought valiantly, Team Vitality's experience was too much for them, winning both the games of this fixture.

In the final match, the heavyweights of Group D clashed against each other. While Gaming Gladiators x Homegirls needed a win to remain in the competition, defending champions Team Vitality had a chance to qualify in the next round with two wins. While Vitality won the first game of this fixture, Homegirls weren't ready to let go of their playoff spot so easily. They clinched a victory in the next match to become the second team to qualify for the Playoffs from Group D.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational tournament in Esports World Cup: Group Stage Day 2

On Day 2 of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational tournament in the Esports World Cup Group Stage, Group B and Group C teams were facing each other.

Group C teams Team Falcons MENA and Victory Song Gamers (EECA representatives) lifted the curtains on the Day 2 fixtures of the MWI 2024 Group Stage. In the first match, Victory Song Gamers managed to clean sweep home team Team Falcons MENA with a 2-0 victory.

In the second game, Team Falcons MENA faced Zino Lillies and only needed a victory to secure their Playoff spot. However, Zino Lillies were prepared for the all-in efforts from their opponent and clean-swept Team Falcons MENA (2-0) to send them out of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational tournament.

With both Victory Song Gamers and Zino Lillies managing to secure their Playoff spot, these teams faced each other to snatch the top-of-the-table position for themselves. However, with both the teams being evenly poised, this match ended in a draw as both teams won one of the best-of-two format games.

With a tie, this time between the top two teams of a group, Victory Song Gamers and Zino Lillies faced each other in a Tie Breaker game. In this game, Victory Song Gamers showcased their dominance and won the game to secure the top spot in Group C.

Net Angeles faced DreamMax Girls in the fourth match of the day. Eager to establish their dominance as one of the best women's Mobile Legends Bang Bang teams in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational tournament in Esports World Cup 2024, Net Angles came out swinging and managed to win both the games of the best-of-two format match against DreamMax Girls.

In the next game, DreamMax Girls faced Omega Empress, who were also among the top contenders to win the tournament. However, DreamMax Girls weren't ready to go out of the competition just yet. They fought valiantly for over 26 minutes to take the first match. But Omega Empress sealed the next match within 16 minutes to ensure a draw from the game.

In the final Mobile Legends Bang Bang match, Omega Empress faced Net Angles. While the Net Angels' girls were booming with confidence after their first win in the first match, Omega Empress, hurt after the results of their previous draw, were determined to win the match. They sealed both the games within 15 minutes to win 2-0 and became the table toppers of Group B.
