While the developer confirmed the patch update just recently via an official X post, it has been dropping hints about all the upcoming changes over the past few days from its social media accounts.

MLBB Project NEXT patch preview announces the Mobile Legends Bang Bang patch 1.8.92 update
The MLBB Project NEXT patch preview video posted on the official X page of MLBB talks about some new changes arriving in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang patch 1.8.92 update. However, it neither specifies a release date nor delves into the details of these changes.
However, since this is a patch preview of the Project NEXT update, the community expects the update to be effective from June 19, 2024 (Project NEXT release date) onwards.
Equipment evolution
Moonton Games has been emphasizing Equipment Evolution from the very beginning. The MLBB Project NEXT patch preview video (arrived on June 14, 2024) also starts by sharing some details about the revamped Equipment system arriving in the game with the Mobile Legends Bang Bang patch 1.8.92 update.
The developer has added some brand new equipment to the game, like Malefic Gun, Sky Piercer, and Wishing Lantern. It has also merged two different existing pieces of equipment to create a new one. These are expected to help different units with extra space in their build.

Hero revamps
Just before the patch preview video, another official X post also revealed that the developer will give a visual makeover to units such as Yin, Ling, and Yu Zhong via the Mobile Legend Bang Bang patch 1.8.92 update. These revamps will not affect the stats of their skills.

New Hero, Zhuxin
Like the previous years, this year's MLBB Project NEXT patch update also brings a new hero. While last year it was Ixia, the marksman champion, this time it will be a new Mage in MLBB. Per the official Mobile Legends Bang Bang patch 1.8.92 update, Zhuxin, with a lantern in her hand, will be here to make the enemies puppets of her fingers.
With the upcoming release of this new Mage, players will also learn about her backstory from the story mode chapter.
A complete map overhaul and enhanced graphics
The MLBB Project NEXT patch preview video also revealed how Moonton Games has performed a complete overhaul of the Sanctum Island map, making the grasses in the bushes a bit taller and a little more realistic. The map's animations will also be improved with this update.
