The developers of Monopoly Go recently held a Q&A session, inviting players to submit their queries about the game. A large number of queries were raised, prompting the development team, including Dhruv (Lead Product Manager), Christian (VP, Head of Product), and others, to release a dedicated blog addressing some of the concerns.

However, they only responded to a few questions and assured players that more blogs would be published soon to cover additional topics. This article highlights questions raised by Monopoly Go players and the responses from the team.

Monopoly Go players expressed frustration about being “gold-locked” during Golden Blitz events, unable to trade for new stickers. The developers explained that limiting the event to two gold stickers at a time elevates their importance, encouraging more participation in live events.

They acknowledged the issue of missing gold stickers and assured players that more Golden Blitz events featuring 5-star gold stickers will be available in the Monopoly Games Album soon.

FPS fluctuates between 30 and 60: Can we expect performance improvements?

Many players experience FPS drops, making the title feel choppy and less enjoyable. Developers confirmed that they are working to improve frame rendering and stabilize performance. Immediate issues are being addressed, and a long-term strategy is in development to enhance gameplay across devices.

Will we be able to trade shields, emojis, or tokens in the future?

The Monopoly Go team responded to this query by explaining that they are exploring new methods to improve the cosmetic and social features of the game. However, they currently have no plans to introduce trading for shields, emojis, or tokens, as they want to maintain the sense of achievement associated with earning these special items.

Can we keep our favorite boards as we progress in Monopoly Go?

Players who enjoy specific boards asked if they could choose and keep a favorite board throughout the game. Developers acknowledged this as valuable feedback and hinted at exciting upcoming changes to the board progression system.

Can we increase the daily card-sending limit to more than 5 for friends in Monopoly Go?

At present, players are limited to sending up to five cards per day to friends and other players. A user named Mr. Raz T raised this concern and asked if they could send more cards in the coming updates. The developers indirectly declined the request, explaining that the restriction helps maintain balanced trading and collection while also preventing cheating.

How the names for each board are chosen?

In response to this Monopoly Go question, the developer explained that the naming process begins early in the creative development phase. However, names can change throughout the process before being finalized.

The team brainstorms themes based on real-life locations, such as Sydney or Hong Kong, or explores in-game stories like Mr. M’s Mansion or the Dice Factory. They also venture into imaginative settings, like the Fairy Village or Unicorn Land. The main priority is ensuring the names are fun and engaging for players.

Once a working title is proposed, it is shared with the entire team for feedback, especially from the artists, who design the boards, and the legal team, who ensure cultural sensitivity. The final name is locked during localization when the title is translated for a global audience.

Will there be future updates to allow sticker filtering?

Many players have requested a sticker filtering feature to simplify trading. The development team is working on adding a search bar to the sticker trading screen to make it easier for players to find the stickers they need.

Will there be a chance to collect token pieces from other Monopoly versions, or customize your own?

A player named DBLER0 enquired about this issue. In his answer, the Lead Product Manager, Diego, mentioned the joy of obtaining unique tokens from different Monopoly games and explained that the team is thinking of bringing some of the classic customization options back.

Will wild cards be usable later in the game to help complete difficult sets?

The official answer stated that there are currently no plans to make wild cards savable for later use. However, the team reassured players that wild cards would often be available during events toward the end of an album, providing more opportunities to complete sets. They also teased the design of a brand-new sticker pack that players would enjoy and suggested that more details would be shared soon.
