Capcom has revealed the Monster Hunter Wilds PC system requirements, and unsurprisingly, the game seems to demand quite a beefy system for a smooth 60fps experience. The title continues the trend of Capcom first-party releases being developed using its in-house RE Engine, albeit with some major enhancements for current-gen systems.
From the looks of it, the latest Monster Hunter entry appears to use the same RE Engine framework as Capcom's most recent open-world action RPG - Dragon's Dogma 2. This isn't particularly surprising considering Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter share plenty of structural similarities when it comes to gameplay and world design.
Much like Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Wilds requires a pretty beefy system, even for modern standards, to achieve a stable 60 FPS.
Here's a look at the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds.

Monster Hunter Wilds PC system requirements
According to Capcom, you will need at least a Nvidia GTX 1660 equivalent to run Monster Hunter Wilds. In terms of CPU, the minimum requirement is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel i5 10600 equivalent.
While the minimum requirements seem reasonable, they will only let you get roughly 30 FPS at 1080p, with upscaling. For 60 FPS, you need a much beefier system.
Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds:
Minimum
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows10 (64-bit Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-10600 or Intel Core i3-12100F or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super(VRAM 6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT(VRAM 6GB)
- Storage: 140GB SSD
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
The minimum requirements require using upscaling (FSR3 or DLSS3) to achieve 30 FPS at 1080p. Furthermore, Capcom suggests that these specifications can only help you run the game at the Lowest presets.
Recommended
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows10 (64-bit Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-11600K or Intel Core i5-12400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super(VRAM 8GB) or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060(VRAM 8GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT(VRAM 12GB)
- Storage: 140GB SSD
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
The recommended specifications target 1080p 60 FPS but with a caveat. To achieve consistent 60 FPS, Capcom recommends the use of Frame Generation, which is notorious for adding input latency.
Furthermore, the system requirements for Wilds are roughly identical to those of Dragon's Dogma 2, which raises a few concerns, especially on the CPU side of things.
Dragon's Dogma 2, especially on PC, is incredibly taxing on the CPU, making it almost impossible for the game to achieve a stable 60 FPS, even after the most recent update. The situation on consoles isn't any better, but those systems do not target 60 FPS to begin with.
If Wilds' system requirements are any indication, the game is going to be incredibly taxing on the CPU front. Also, Capcom relying on options like Frame Generation and upscalers to even achieve a playable framerate, that too at a 1080p resolution target, does sound alarming. Thankfully, there's plenty of time for the developer to optimize the game before its release.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to be released on February 28, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC (via Steam).
