While console and PC owners will have to wait another week to get their hands on Mortal Kombat X, mobile users can now purchase and play the game via the App Store, as Mortal Kombat X is now available for the iOS platform. Developers NetherRealm’s Studio seems to be doing pretty well in the mobile gaming department with popular releases like Injustice: Gods Among Us and WWE Immortals. And now the team has another title to add to their mobile games list with Mortal Kombat X.
Unlike the PC/Console version, Mortal Kombat X for the mobile will feature elements from card collection and fighting titles for a fun and balanced experience. There are about 24 fighters to choose from in the games roster and players can collect upgradable gear for their fighters which will unlock some cool finishing moves. The game will also feature daily events and online multiplayer battles.
Besides this, the game is also set to feature a new Challenge Mode which should arrive at a later date. There is even an ‘allies’ feature which gives players the ability to borrow a friends character to help them in a fight. The connectivity will be initiated once the PC and Console versions of the games have released. This in turn will allow players to engage in Faction Wars that will unlock other features in the mobile and PC/Console versions.
Mortal Kombat X mobile version is available now on the Apple App Store for the iOS. It will be releasing soon on Google Play. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game will be releasing next week on April 14th. In the meantime, you can check out the launch trailer for the mobile version below:
