MPL Malaysia Season 14 Week 3 Recap: All the key highlights from the second last week of the Regular Season

The third week of MPL Malaysia Season 14 saw the frontrunners of the league capitalize on various mid-table teams to secure their positions at the top. For example, teams like Selangor Red Giants, Monster Vicious, and Team Vamos have won their games against RED Esports, Team Rey, and TODAK, respectively.

Selangor Red Giants has maintained their consistency in the tournament so far as they performed a clean sweep on RED Esports on the first day of MPL Malaysia Season 14 Week 3.

Team Vamos, has also been constantly challenging Selangor Red Giants' place at the top of the table, and the third week was not an exception. Team Vamos managed to defeat TODAK (2-1), who is the three-time MPL Malaysia champions, in their first game of this week.

Despite having one of the largest rosters in the competition with 10 players, the most decorated MLBB pro team of the country, TODAK, failed to put their best performances up front.

RED Esports, TODAK, and Team Rey, despite losing to probably the strongest sides of MPL Malaysia Season 14, have managed to secure their mid-table positions after grabbing victories over the other teams during the third week.

RED Esports, for example, caused a massive upset as they defeated JP NINERS, the fourth-place holders, on the third day of MPL Malaysia Season 14 Week 3. With this victory, they earned the sixth spot.

The stage is set, and it will be exciting to see the contest between Team Vamos and Selangor Red Giants, as the winning team will have the chance to secure their top spot in the Regular Season table.

Monster Vicious and Homebois kick off Minggu Diraja at 3:15 PM GMT+8 on 27 September. As the only team this season with an entire roster that is "Buatan Malaysia" (meaning "Made in Malaysia" in Bahasa Malaysia), Monster Vicious is proving that the local esports ecosystem has progressed to a level where imports are unnecessary to challenge the league title.

Seru Saturday will feature the most highly anticipated match of the season when Selangor Red Giants go up against Team Vamos at 3:00 PM GMT+8. Only one point separates the Season 14 favorites at the top of the table, with the winner earning the right to the Regular Season throne.

However, Selangor Red Giants will be aiming to end Minggu Diraja at the top of the table, regardless of their result against Team Vamos, having an additional match in Week 4 over their rivals—the defending champions play again on Day 3 against bottom-of-the-table RSG Malaysia.
