Point Guard: Playmaking Shot Creator
Build Creation: Skill Breakdown - Playmaking/Shooting, Physical Profile - #1, Agility
Player Creation: Height - 6'5", Weight - 175 Pounds, Wingspan - 77.0 inches
Takeover: Spot-Up Shooter
Setting Your Potential:
When setting your potential for this build, it is recommended to max out all shooting and playmaking attributes, in order to allow you 22 and 23 badges on each respective skill.
Maxing these out, along with the above player creation, will allow you to be a knockdown shooter with 88 and 87 3pt and midrange rating respectively, while also keeping ball handling at 87, above the required 86 to allow speed boosting.
For defence/rebounding, you want to max out the following 5 sections: perimeter defence, lateral quickness, steal, block and defensive rebound. This will make you a well above average two-way guard as you have the speed and skills to stay in front of almost anybody.
Badges:
As is the case with a majority of player creations this year in 2K20, the badges are vital to the success of a build. The wrong badge can take your player from a Steph Curry clone to a local junior league player in an instant. This build will allow you to get 55 badge upgrades, with 10 HOF badges, 4 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze. The recommended badges are as follows:
HOF - Deadeye, Difficult shots, Flexible Release, Quick Draw, Range Extender, Ankle Breaker, Dimer, Handles for Days, Quick First Step, Space Creator
GOLD - Tight Handles, Clamps, Intimidator, Tireless Defender
Silver - Volume Shooter
Bronze - Showtime
Shooting Guard: Scoring Machine
Build Creation: Skill Breakdown - #2, Shooting/Finishing, Physical Profile - #1, Agility
Player Creation: Height - 6'5", Weight - 200 Pounds, Wingspan - 79.8 inches
Takeover: Shot Creating
Setting Your Potential:
Potentially 99.9999% of fans of either 2K or just the NBA, in general, have wished they could be like, and play like, the great Kobe Bryant. With the new build system in 2K20, you can know come closer than ever to imitating the Black Mamba's game style and it is as overpowered as you would have imagined it to be.
When setting your potential for this build you want to max out everything except for passing accuracy, post hook, standing dunk, interior defence and offensive rebounding.
These stats will give you the ability for contact dunks, dribble moves and elite finishing moves whether it be in the post, mid-range or from deep, just like Kobe.
Badges:
This build will give you a slightly less than average number of badge upgrades, but the ones you can get fit incredibly towards the ideal playing style of this build - all-out scoring. To max out this build's potential you will have 5 HOF badges, 7 golds and 6 silvers which are as follows:
HOF - Contact Finisher, Clutch Shooter, Deadeye, Difficult Shots, Tireless Shooter
Gold - Fancy Footwork, Relentless Finisher, Deep Fades, Quick First Step, Space Creator, Tight Handles, Clamps
Silver - Acrobat, Lob City Finisher, Catch and Shoot, Handles for Days, Ankle Breaker, Intimidator.
Small Forward: Slasher
Build Creation: Skill Breakdown - #1, Finishing, Physical Profile - #4, Vertical/Agility
Player Creation: Height - 6'8", Weight - 180 Pounds, Wingspan - 88.5 inches
Takeover: Slasher
Setting Your Potential:
This build is based around speed, strength and verticality, the ability to blow by a defender and rise up above the rim and slam it down similar to Vince Carter or Julius Erving.
For this build you want to max out all the playmaking, allowing you to have some good moves to get past defenders with 90-rated post moves and 73-rated ball handling. The next key aspect to this build is finishing - maxing out every stat category except for the post hook allows you to dunk on anybody who gets in your way.
The rest of your attributes should go towards maxing Mid Range, Free Throw, Perimeter Defence, Steal, Block, Lateral Quickness and Defensive Rebounding.
Badges:
The 51 badge upgrades that this build allows is more than enough to dominate in MyCareer or in the park. Although there are no HOF badges, the 13 golds, 5 silvers and 2 bronzes allow you to have a range of skills while being elite in what is most important - putting the ball in the ring in flashy fashion. The badges are as follows:
GOLD - Acrobat, Consistent Finisher, Contact Finisher, Fancy Footwork, Fast-break Finisher, Relentless, Pick 'n Roller, Ankle Breaker, Downhill, Tight Handles, Space Creator, Quick First Step, Handles For Days
SILVER - Lob City Finisher, Showtime, Slithery, Chase Down Artist, Clamps
BRONZE - Slippery Off Ball, Post Spin Technician
Power Forward: Glass Cleaning Lockdown
Build Creation: Skill Breakdown - #10, Rebounding/Defending, Physical Profile - #5, Balanced
Player Creation: Height - 6'11", Weight - 260 Pounds, Wingspan - 93.0 inches
Takeover: Rim Protecting
Setting Your Potential:
This build has the potential to be unstoppable on both ends of the floor. With its elite rebounding and high vertical stats compared to the majority of other bigs, you will be able to grab every miss that gets thrown up and either start the fast break or slam down a putback dunk.
You will get a huge 95 standing dunk along with 95s across the board for both rebounding and blocks. To get this you will have to max out the first 4 finishing stats, all of the shooting stats and then everything but steal and perimeter defence for the defence/rebounding category, leaving you elite on both ends of the court.
Badges:
48 badge upgrades are plenty to perfectly complement this build's strength and cover some of its weaknesses.
You'll get 4 HOF badges, 6 golds, 5 silvers and 3 bronzes as follows:
HOF - Brick Wall, Intimidator, Rim Protector, Rebound Chaser
Gold - Box, Interceptor, Worm, Contact Finisher, Pick n Roller, Relentless Finisher
Silver - Catch n Shoot, Pick Pocket, Post Move Lockdown, Fancy Footwork, Put-back Boss
Bronze - Pick & Popper, Tireless Defender, Dropstepper
Centre: Stretch Five
Build Creation: Skill Breakdown - #5, Shooting, Physical Profile - #1, Agility
Player Creation: Height - 6'11", Weight - 275 Pounds, Wingspan - 83 inches
Takeover: Spot-Up Shooter
Setting Your Potential:
This build is simple, you want to be able to stretch the floor and knock down shots. Since bigs have been able to shoot in 2K, a stretch has always been one of the most overused builds in the game. Being able to take the opposition centre away from the paint and knock down shots is just too good to not take advantage of.
For this build you will need to max out all shooting attributes, giving yourself an 84 3pt shot and an 87 mid-range attribute. You will also want to max out all defensive stats, making sure you aren't a liability on either end of the court, and put the rest of your upgrade points into post hook, standing dunk and shot close.
Badges:
42 badges on this build will get you a monster 7 HOF badges, all shooting ones, along with 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes to allow your player to be the perfect stretch big on any team.
HOF - Catch 'n Shoot, Deadeye, Pick 'n Popper, Quick Draw, Range Extender, Slippery Off Ball, Green Machine
Gold - Brick Wall, Rim Protector, Post Move Lockdown
Silver - Flexible Release
Bronze - Quick First Step, Tear Dropper
