Apex Legends Season 22 brought a lot of significant changes to most character classes in the game, including an enemy highlight feature for the Recon class. Crypto received a crucial buff to his Blue Shield upgrade perk, called Off the Grid, which enables the user to become permanently invisible when operating the drone directly. However, this camouflage wears off once the player exits out of the drone or recalls it. The devs also reduced the cooldown for the aerial gadget down to 30 from 40 seconds.

Moreover, the Purple Shield upgrade perk also received a smaller buff that helps the drone scan anyone who gets hit by the ultimate ability. All of these upgrades combined can make Crypto a very powerful rival in almost every combat scenario.

Squads can now take charge and act on the information provided by Crypto faster as no one needs to defend their scout while the drone is being used. The new perk essentially makes the character less vulnerable to enemy ambushes.
