In a recent turn of events, French organization 3DMAX will replace the BetBoom Team ahead of IEM Cologne 2024. According to a recent X post by the ESL Counter-Strike authority, the Russian roster has been unable to obtain any visas to travel to the cathedral of Counter-Strike, Cologne. As a result, 3DMAX got the opportunity to participate in this prestigious IEM tournament as per the Team Replacement Rules of the ESL Pro Tour.

As discussed, 3DMAX is all set to replace the Russian organization BetBoom Team at IEM Cologne 2024. The Russian org was invited to the event based on their World Rankings. However, according to several tweets surfacing over the internet, BetBoom failed to obtain their visas for the roster to travel to Cologne, Germany. As a result, they won’t be able to participate in the Play-in stage at the beginning. This would’ve been their first LAN event since YaLLA Compass 2024 in June.

As a result, per ESL’s Team Replacement Rules, 3DMAX got an invitation. They recently had a stellar run in India’s SkyEsports Championship 2024 and won it. Their current ESL ranking is 16 with 231 points. Hence, they are all set to face the 9z Team in a best-of-three (Bo3) matchup on August 7, 2024. Considering their recent performance, the scales are slightly tipped toward them in this match.
