Ubisoft just confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed till 2025. This comes as a shock to fans around the world who were gearing up for the release which was fast approaching on November 12, 2024. Ubisoft stated that they need more time to "polish and refine the experience". This is what they had to say:
"We understand the decision will come as disappointing news, especially to those who've been waiting patiently for an Assassin's Creed game inspired by Feudal Japan, but we sincerely believe this is in the best interest of the game, and ultimately your experience as a player."
Marc-Alexis Côté, also mentions how Assassin’s Creed Shadows was bringing renewed stealth, brought by new technology, set in a beautiful and immersive world. For this reason, more time was needed to finetune things.
While this is sad news to fans, the developer will be offering a form of compensation given the delay. All preorders will be refunded and all future preorders will be granted the first expansion for free.
