Rocksteady has reportedly greenlit a Batman Arkham Asylum remake. Following the underwhelming performance of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League and the negative reception of the game by fans and critics alike, the studio went under severe "restructuring". As was reported earlier this year, mass layoffs hit its QA Department around August 2024.

Rocksteady is now seemingly looking forward to bringing its first-ever Batman game in new colors. According to YouTuber Vara Dark, the company is reportedly ready to work on the remake of Batman Arkham Asylum soon, although official sources are yet to confirm anything.

Rocksteady Studios has reportedly greenlit a remake for Arkham Asylum, the company's first-ever Batman title and a game that is held in high regard by many. This latest information comes from YouTuber, Vara Dark, who stated the following in a post on X:

"CONFIRMED Rocksteady is adding Deathstroke and the REAL Batman, the one we ORIGINALLY WANTED TO SEE, into Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League for the last 2 seasons. It seems they are desperate to get players back in the game but it's too late."

She continued with the following:

"Warner Bros recently spoke about franchises they'd like to focus on and DC, specifically Batman, was mentioned. The same sources that told me layoffs were incoming months ago (and were correct) tell me they've internally greenlit a remake of Arkham Asylum and will potentially be continuing the Arkhamverse with the Origins voice cast."

According to Vara Dark's insider sources, Rocksteady still has plans for Suicide Squad and is looking forward to a comeback by introducing the real Batman and one of the most iconic villains in DC, Deathstroke.

Besides remaking Batman Arkham Asylum, the studio wants to continue with the Arkhamverse. However, this will come with the voice cast of Arkham Origins instead due to Kevin Conroy passing away in 2022.

It is unclear whether we will receive a game with updated visuals or a full-on remake as the original still holds well to this day. Only time will tell if Rocksteady will be moving forward with this project if the studio is ready to announce it in the future.
