The Apex Legends Bocek has been in the care package since Season 14 and has been reserved for drops only. A recent X post by @TitanVoltaic highlighted a few leaks about the upcoming legend Artemis and that the Bocek is finally being taken out of the care package after almost a two-year gap. However, these speculations are based on the findings of dataminers and may not be accurate.
This article will highlight the return of Bocek on the ground and a potential new Shotgun weapon for Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Bocek reportedly returning to ground loot alongside new arrow-type ammo Shotgun
The community had expressed stern dissatisfaction with the absence of a new weapon in Apex Legends for a while now. The developers seem to have taken note of this and are reportedly developing a new Shotgun for Electronic Arts’ battle royale title. However, the interesting part is that the upcoming gun will not be using shotgun ammo and will instead use arrows.
This is a surprising route that players did not expect as shotguns are meant to be effective only in close-range gunfight scenarios. However, the Mozambique shotgun is an exception that has proven to be useful in some medium-range skirmishes, especially when armed with the Hammerpoint Rounds Hop Up.

This raises a crucial question if the playerbase is going to receive the first select-fire Shotgun that can fight both close and some medium-range gunfights. However, this is not the first time that the devs have updated the ammo type for weapons in the game. The Wingman used to have Heavy Ammo but now can only be used with Sniper Rounds even after being categorized in the Pistol class.
The return of the Bocek to ground loot stems from the arrival of an arrow-type Shotgun. The primary reason for the Bocek’s removal was simply because its ammunition distorted the loot pool and made it difficult for teams to loot up other rounds like Heavy, Light, Energy, and more. But with the arrival of a Shotgun that can use arrows, the Bocek can be reintroduced as it will balance the ammo pool.

The Bocek will receive significant nerfs when it is removed from the Care Packages and will likely be restored to its original state.
The upcoming shotgun weapon might have an innate ability to recreate the effects of the Shatter Caps which splits a single arrow into seven pellets. The devs would likely balance such an approach by decreasing the number of pellets and could settle on 3, to mimic the three-shot Mozambique.
It is important to note that these are assumptions based on leaks by dataminers and have not been announced by EA or Respawn Entertainment.
