The CS2 Shanghai Major is about to conclude and the viewership has been great so far. With hundreds of thousands of viewers watching it every day, it has become one of the most successful Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. Every high-tier event usually has a show-match right before the grand finals, featuring some veteran Counter-Strike professional players as well as celebrities.
The host of this event in Shanghai, Perfect World has officially announced that Zhou Guanyu, the first-ever Chinese F1 driver will be appearing at the CS2 Shanghai Major show-match.

Zhou Guanyu will be playing at the CS2 Shanghai Major
The announcement was made via the official Perfect World X account. It started to gain hundreds of likes within a few hours of being posted. The caption reads:
"The first Formula 1 driver from China @ZhouGuanyu24, who is also an enthusiastic CS gamer, will attend the Shanghai Major show-match! #ShanghaiMajor2024"
For the uninitiated, Zhou Guanyu is a professional race driver from China who currently participates in F1 for the Stake F1 Kick Sauber team. At just the age of 24, he has won multiple F2 events, however, he has yet to stand at the podium in the F1 championships.
The Playoffs of this major event started on December 12, 2024, and are yet to be concluded, as of this writing. The Grand Final is on December 15, 2024, at 2 AM Eastern Time and the show-match is expected to be broadcast two hours before it. Other players and celebrities have not been announced yet.
Many fans left positive comments on the post, showing their excitement. The official G2 Esports account left a funny comment mentioning Zhou Guanyu as a G2 player.
