Dropping out of nowhere, Capcom has announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster for modern platforms. This remake of the original game aims to reinvigorate the Xbox 360 classic for a new audience. As expected, protagonist Frank West will be returning to prove his worth in the same beloved story fans fell in love with back in 2006.

While details are scarce for the time being, fans will be eagerly looking forward to Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Here's everything we know about this title thus far.

As per the trailer, this seems to be a faithful recreation of the first game, which was launched back in 2006 as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Starring protagonist Frank West, players step into the shoes of the witty photojournalist as he finds himself trapped inside a shopping mall in Willamette, Colorado during a zombie outbreak.

Aiming to find a cure in three days, players will mow down massive hordes of zombies, something the series has become synonymous with now. While other details are scarce, it is likely players will follow much of the same plot as they did in the original, including facing powerful Psycho bosses.

Since its launch, Dead Rising has made it to several platforms. This includes a "demake" for the Nintendo Wii (called Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop) in 2019 and a PS4/Xbox One HD remaster in 2016. While launch details regarding its upcoming remake remain unclear, the project seems like an all-new opportunity to appeal to a brand-new audience of gamers.
