"Deji is the reason we have Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson" - KSI comments on his brother's 2018 boxing defeat to Jake Paul

UK YouTuber, boxer, and Sidemen member JJ "KSI" took to a recent Sidecast Episode (Sidemen's podcast) to speak on one of the pioneering fights of YouTube boxing featuring Deji, his brother, and Jake Paul. For context, back in 2018, JJ took on Logan Paul, while Deji fought Jake. While the first one was a draw, Jake claimed the victory in the latter.

Deji, however, has since been criticized for his lack of training leading to the fight. JJ, in the latest Sidecast episode, spoke about how Deji could've won had he trained harder.

He believes that the Deji vs Jake Paul match started a slippery slope of events, which has led to the upcoming bout between Jake and Mike Tyson. KSI said:

Deji, one of the UK's most subscribed YouTubers, was a pioneer in the now-popular YouTube boxing trend. His first bout against Jake Paul went viral, but unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side.

Sidemen member Ethan "Behzinga" commented this about Deji's performance ahead of his fight:

"I don't know if that story has ever been said on video, there was a chef that lived with you guys and we were cooking Deji and JJ meals. He (Deji) woke up, pretended to leave the house and said bye to her, and ran back in the house around the corner so that he didn't have to eat what he was making."

KSI added this about his brother Deji:

"He wasn't even training and he was able to bloody up Jake. Imagine if he tried."

Harry "W2S," who was also present in the podcast, said:

"If he had been forced at gunpoint to like a really solid training camp and eaten well, I reckon he could have cooked him. But you never know."

Deji was also in the news recently after revealing how he nearly lost an ongoing bet with KSI. The bet is essentially on Deji getting six-pack abs before July 1, 2024, which would earn him a whopping £1 million. Failing to do so, as Deji revealed, he has to wear a mankini.
