Team Liquid's streak of bad luck in the Dota 2 competitive scene reached its boiling point as the roster fell short again in a Grand Final. This time, their regional rivals, Gaimin Gladiators, dominated the best-of-five series and defeated Liquid 3-0 without much trouble.
Before the Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2024 Grand Final, the two European powerhouses locked horns in the Upper Bracket Final, where GG ousted Liquid. After dropping to the Lower Bracket, Liquid defeated Team Falcons to secure their place in the Grand Final.

The first game showcased GG's aggressive, pushing-focused lineup against a weaker draft from Liquid, resulting in a decisive victory in just 24 minutes. Beastmaster's mobility and Broodmother's lane pressure proved vital in hampering Liquid's heroes.
The second Riyadh Masters 2024 match turned out to be very different as both the teams went for fighting/team fight-reliable heroes. Broodmother, Chen, and Invoker were repicked by GG in the second game. Along with a fat Alchemist and active mid SF, Gaimin Gladiators overwhelmed Liquid and secured a win after multiple teamfights.
The final match mirrored the first, with GG drafting an aggressive lineup that dominated Liquid from the start. Chaos Knight, Dark Seer, and Enigma played pivotal roles, allowing GG to dive under tier 3 towers by the 18-minute mark.
With little room to breathe, Liquid was forced into a defensive gameplay, ultimately leading to their eventual defeat. Micke's SF getting caught in Blackhole with BKB popped was the final nail to Liquid's Riyadh Masters 2024 run.

Dota 2 Riyadh Masters 2024 Finalists' Prize Pool
Gaimin Gladiators claimed the lion's share of the prize pool, taking home an impressive $1,500,000 (30% of the total prize pool) following their victory over Liquid in the Riyadh Masters 2024. Liquid, as the runners-up, received $800,000 for their efforts. Furthermore, Gaimin Gladiators now leads the EWC Club Championship standings with 1000 EWC Points.
