The first CS2 Major Champions, NaVi, have finally received their in-game trophy after a wait of 115 days since the tournament concluded. NAVI jL (@jLcsgo_) on X posted a screenshot of the in-game trophy this morning with the caption "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE GOT IT!" CS2 conducted its first Major tournament in Copenhagen this year which was won by NaVi. This was the first time in three years the team had won a Major and the players were elated. Furthermore, being the first team to win it in Counter-Strike 2 was a big deal not only for the organization but also for the game's esport scene.
Counter-Strike recognizes the efforts of these teams and their achievements. To showcase their support, they award the Major winners with an in-game trophy or Coin. Being the first Counter-Strike 2 Major tournament winners, the players were expecting something special in-game.
However, 40 days after the tournament concluded, NAVI jL on X posted that they are yet to receive their in-game trophies. He had to say the following,
"Not the biggest issue, but not getting the major coin 40 days after it ended is a little annoying."
The community called out Valve for delaying the issuance of the trophy and finally, after 115 days of patience, the wait was over as the esport athlete this tweeted out that they had finally received the trophy. They also shared screenshots of how the trophy looks in-game and needless to say, the team as well as the community was quite elated.
