Fnatic ONIC crowned champions of MLBB M6 World Championship 

Fnatic ONIC from the Philippines were crowned the champions of the MLBB M6 World Championship following an outstanding performance. The renowned lineup defeated Team Liquid from Indonesia in the Grand Finals of the event on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Their star player Kelra has been named the FMVP for his spectacular showcasing in the Finale.

Fnatic ONIC had an incredible run in the MLBB M6 Championship as the club didn’t lose a single match in the event. They came into this international tournament after topping the regional MPL Philippines Season 14 and managed to maintain an unbeaten streak throughout. Earlier this year, Fnatic partnered with ONIC and found great success in a short time.

Meanwhile, Team Liquid ended up as the runner-up of the M6 Championship. The Indonesian team had a mediocre run in the Swiss Stage but put forward an improved performance in the Knockout. Unfortunately, they faced Fnatic ONIC three times in this event and lost all three of those encounters.

MLBB M6 World Championship highlights

This sixth iteration of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang World Championship was played in three stages in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and had a total prize pool of $1 million. The initial Wildcard Stage featured eight teams and was hosted from November 21 to 24, 2024.

The topmost team from this initial stage along with 15 directly qualified teams participated in the Swiss Stage, held from November 28 to December 5. The top eight teams from the second stage then made it to the Knockout, while the remaining were eliminated from the championship. Fnatic was the top performer in this stage.

Moving on, the top eight clubs fought in a Double Elimination Bracket in the Knockout, held from December 7 to 15, 2024. Fnatic ONIC kept up their unbeaten streak in this round, as the Filipino squad outplayed Malaysia's Selangor Red Giants in their first match before hammering Myanmar's Falcon Esports.

Fnatic ONIC then faced Team Liquid in the Upper Bracket Finals and defeated them to reach the Grand Finals. Subsequently, Team Liquid fell to the Lower Bracket Finals but won their match against Selangor Red Giants to qualify for the Grand Finals.

Fnatic ONIC maintained their signature form in the Grand Finals and beat Team Liquid by a scoreline of 4-1 to lift the MLBB M6 World Championship trophy. This Grand Finale garnered a massive peak viewership of more than 4 million.
