Genshin Impact has found itself in a bit of hot water, with the Neuvillette “nerf” being the latest in a string of events that have unfolded since the Natlan reveal trailer. In short, HoYoverse had issued a small update that removed the character’s “spin to win” ability, which in turn resulted in angry fans threatening to sue the company.
It appears that HoYoverse has now decided to roll back the patch entirely and offer a free 10 pull as compensation. More details on this can be found below.

In a strange turn of events, Genshin Impact has decided to roll back Neuvillette’s spin-to-win nerf, in the current version (4.8) of the game.
The exploit involves players changing their mouse DPI to abnormally high levels while using the 5-star Hydro character Neuvillette, and panning the camera quickly while attacking with the said character. This resulted in a 360-degree spinning beam that decimated foes with relative ease.
While the spinning attack was significantly nerfed (to the point of being unusable) recently today, a large section of the playerbase did not take to it kindly. Coupled with the threat of potential legal trouble, HoYoverse has restored the spin-to-win functionality in its entirety, apologizing for the incident.
Genshin Impact announces 1600 free Primogems to compensate for the Neuvillette nerf
HoYoverse has also prepared a compensatory 1600 Primogems for all players. This is equivalent to a 10 pull and is a hefty amount for a mere rollback.
The date of distribution for these Primogems is yet to be announced at the time of writing this article.
HoYoverse has also promised to remain “more cautious” regarding changes to game balance in the future to provide Travelers with the best possible experience.
