Hogwarts Legacy sequel will coordinate with the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series

David Haddad, President of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment, mentioned in an interview with Variety:

"We have known for some time that fans are looking for more things in this world, and so we’re spending a lot of time thinking about that."

This statement does not come as a surprise since Hogwarts Legacy became a runaway success and became the highest-selling game in 2023. Haddad noted with regards to this:

"The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped to unlock with ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ last year."

On relating this to the Harry Potter experience in general, Haddad noted that this proved how there is not much of a difference between old and young fans. The President noted:

"Our insights tell us that there are not huge distinctions between a younger version of a fan and an older version of a fan. They’re just deep ‘Harry Potter’ fans, and we try to build authentic experiences to delight them."

In an earlier interview, Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels said during an interview at Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference Wednesday:

"Obviously, a successor to ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road."
