Prominent internet personality Zack "Asmongold" shared some rather strong sentiments against Twitch culture. During a livestream on November 20, 2023, Zack discussed Fortnite star Turner "Tfue"'s recent announcement of joining Kick. While comparing the two platforms, Asmongold's attention was drawn to a viewer who wrote that people are "attached to Twitch culture," which makes content creators hesitant to switch to Kick.

The Texas native did not hold back and said that Twitch culture is for "losers." He remarked:

"'People are too attached to Twitch culture, so they don't want to swap platforms, and I find that odd.' Twitch culture is for losers. Every Twitch meme and Twitch joke is just an inside joke for losers. There's nothing good about Twitch culture at all! It's just stupid!"

"So yeah, I mean, that's really what I think. That's why I ban half the emotes because they're f**king cringe."

Asmongold responds to those criticizing Kick after the platform signs Tfue

At the 17-minute mark of the broadcast, Asmongold stated that watching Tfue on Kick was not a "big deal" for him. He also responded to critics of the Stake-backed platform, saying:

"This is the way I see it. Like, if I want to watch Tfue, I just go over and watch him on Kick. Like, is that really a big deal to me? No, not really. It's really not! Like, I just go to another website. I mean, a lot of people probably go to the... you know, they see somebody see on, like, Twitter. So, like, you just click the link and that's it!"

Asmongold continued:

"And also, you don't even see ads on Kick. So, it's very weird that people are like, 'Oh, ads are ruining Twitch.' But then, Kick is bad; but Kick doesn't have any ads. What the f**k is the problem? It's very weird!"

The One True King (OTK) co-founder then commented on Twitch culture, claiming that memes and jokes are for "losers." A few moments later, Asmongold noticed a fan writing that they would not support Kick because of the prevalence of gambling.

The World of Warcraft streamer's response was:

"'I'll never support Kick, (they) support gamba (gambling) s**t.' Well, like... how principled is this perspective, though? Right? Because, if you're against gamba... Twitch has gamba."

He went on to say:

"Here, let me show you! (The streamer opens the Slots category on Twitch) So, Twitch has gamba right here. So, how is this necessarily a problem? I'm not really understanding that. I don't think that makes any sense."

Fans react to the streamer's opinions

The 32-year-old's take on Twitch culture was a hot topic of conversation on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit. Here's what the Reddit community had to say:
