Mortal was unable to participate in the awards ceremony. Animesh “Thug” Agarwal, the co-founder of S8UL, received the award and said:
"I am so incredibly happy to accept this on the behalf of Mortal. My co-founder, my partner, and my best man. I wish all the best for him as he moves into his second innings of his life next month as he gets married. I think Mortal, your fans wanted to give you one last song before you are taken away from me. That’s okay, all right. Congrats."
After winning this Esports Award, Mortal also reacted through his social media pages and said:
"Lost at words. Just an ocean full of feelings. #2 curse has been broken. I was planning to try to break it in 2025, but now this happened. It's always great to put our Indian flag on any stage whenever possible."
For the first time, Mortal won an award at the Esports Awards and broke his curse of finishing second there. He leapfrogged many well-known creators to win this title. On the other hand, his organisation S8UL Esports won the Esports Content Group of the Year award three times in a row.
Naman Mathur aka Mortal has over seven million subscribers on YouTube and over five million followers on Instagram. After retiring from competitive PUBG Mobile/BGMI, he focuses more on content creation and livestreams many games on his YouTube channel.
