3DMAX recently defeated The MongolZ at the finals of the Skyesports Championship 2024. The team performed incredibly, collecting two straight map wins with 13-4 and 13-5 scores on Anubis and Ancient, respectively. Naturally, they were thrilled to win the $120,000 prize along with first place. Their IGL Maka led the roster to a strong finish in a rather dominant fashion.
Skyesports Champions 2024 was a new experience for the roster, especially since the tournament was one of the biggest in India. After their win, we were able to have a conversation with Maka.
Note: As Maka's native language isn't English, his responses have been edited for clarity while preserving his intended meaning.

3DMAX Maka opens up about Skyesports Championship 2024, roster moves, and overall experience in India
Maka was somewhat surprised with their easy 2-0 victory against The MongolZ at the Skyesports Championship 2024 finals. He stated that perhaps the Counter-Strike 2 matchup against Aurora was their toughest throughout the competition. He also opened up about the new additions to the roster, Graviti and coach wasiNk.
Q: Congratulations on the win, guys. Any thoughts about the win at the Skyesports Championship 2024 finals?
Maka: It’s been a tough LAN I think, thank you for the words. There were a lot of circumstances that made the LAN hard because I think Skyesports is new to Esports so that’s improved. But in the end, it was good to play on stage, and quite happy (for) this trip to India to play.
Q: The group stage was a bit of a bumpy ride for you guys, with one loss against Eternal Fire and an overtime match with Amkal. How did the team find that mental reset to stay in the tournament?
Maka: Having the loss against Eternal Fire was not rough because it was a close game and we could have/should have won, to be honest. But again we didn’t and that gave us the mentality that (we) were able to compete at a very good level because Eternal Fire is a very good team, (and) like a good team, they compete at their best, so we get to that mindset.
Q: Which team would you say gave you the toughest fight in the tournament?
Maka: I think the toughest match was Aurora, and having this, all about the things around because you got playing on stage, it was the semi-finals, the game (was) quite close and that’s why it was a tough match and that’s it.
Q: Graviti has been the latest addition to the team. How has his addition impacted the team?
Maka: Graviti and wasiNk joined the team together, the new coach. Their addition has affected the team like greatly, they fit great in the team. They give what we didn’t have so I think it's very important for the team's balance.
Q: Any key strategies your team devised to win against The MongolZ at the Skyesports Championship finals?
Maka: I don’t know, I don’t have anything to say about Mongolz. To be honest, like (we weren't) expecting to win that easily, I think it was really special, might be the effect of (being) tired-down no? Because we had a lot of lot of events and it was really important for us to win. It was not the same matter for them so, again, we won.
